Prices for trays and boxes of apples in Himachal are in increase.
Producers are confronted with a new shortage in Himachal Pradesh, one of the first producing regions of apples in the country.
After the rains of monsoon, producers have to face logistics problems. Rains damaged roads and trucks are not enough available.
A new shortage appears in trays and boxes.
Producers underlined that the state failed to make adequate arrangements for the supply of packaging material for the bumper season.
Price of trays doubled. Apples producers consider that storekeepers take advantage of the situation.
Apples production in Himachal Pradesh was of 510 million tons in 2008-09.
