A new digital system is available for returning exporters.
Argentine citrus producers planning to export fresh fruit during the 2026/27 campaign can register their farms until November 13. This year's process includes an updated online traceability system, according to the National Food Safety and Quality Service (SENASA).
Registration requirements
Registration opened on October 19 and covers producers participating in the export certification program. The program applies to oranges, mandarins, lemons and grapefruit, depending on the destination market.
Growers who participated in the 2025/26 campaign can complete the process themselves through the new Citrus Traceability Information System (SITC).
Those registered in earlier campaigns but not in 2025/26 must first contact their local program office. New applicants and growers who have not participated since 2024/25 need to register in person and submit the required documents.
Export markets
Export destinations include the European Union, China, South Korea, the United States, Chile, Colombia and several other Latin American and Asian markets. Eligible citrus products differ by destination.
For example, the EU program covers all four citrus categories, while exports to South Korea are limited to oranges under this certification scheme. The US program covers lemons produced in northwestern Argentina.
SENASA also advises growers interested in exporting fresh oranges to Mexico to select that destination during registration, although the relevant phytosanitary requirements have not yet been finalized.
