Local production will be low and foreign production from Europe will be limited.
In the United Kingdom the supply of cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, white cabbages and red cabbages may be insufficient to meet the demand.
BGA (Brassica Growers Association) described the situation as very worrying.
After a dry winter and an early spring, the main producting region, Lincolnshire, recorded heavy rainfall that flooded and damaged crops. Predicting a limited supply.
In a normal year, some European countries could compensate for the production deficit but Europe has suffered record temperatures which have also led to a drop in production.
