The various promotional actions were able to reach 376 million Chinese consumers last season (here, tasting in a supermarket).
After an analysis of the previous campaign in China, Chilean professionals decided to continue and strengthen their strategy to have even greater impact on Chinese consumers.
The campaign for the 2016-17 season (e-commerce, retail, television, media) reached more than 376 million Chinese consumers. The target group was the urban population aged 18-50 in 37 cities across the country. For the 2017-18 season the shares will be extended to 48 Chinese cities.
In 2016, Chile became the main exporter of fresh fruit in China and the main supplier of cherries in this market, with a 98% share of cherries imported at the peak of winter demand.
According to Chilean professionals, the country currently exports to China about 20 million boxes of 5kg of cherries and will be able to ship 30 million in the next 5 years.
