Presidential visit to Rungis

The President made ??a "surprise" visit to the international market of Rungis.

François Hollande made the visit at 4:30 to be greeted by Stéphane Layani, director of Rungis. The President was accompanied by Benoit Hamon, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Guillaume Garot, Minister in charge of the food.



Wearing a white jacket bearing the colours of Rungis and embroidered with his name, François Hollande visited the pavilions for meat, flowers, cheese, fruit and vegetables. The visit lasted more than 5 hours.

The President wanted to meet French people and companies that were open for business during the holiday season.
