Global pineapple production set for limited growth in 2026

Global pineapple production is projected to increase by only 0–1% in 2026, according to APEDA’s Market Intelligence Cell. The outlook differs widely between producing countries.
Growth markets
China and Mexico are each expected to increase production by around 3%. China’s expansion is linked to favourable weather and improved growing methods in major regions, while Mexico continues to benefit from attractive domestic prices.
Brazilian output is forecast to rise by about 2%, supported by a larger production base and programmes designed to reduce climate risks in agricultural areas.
Costa Rica faces a decline
Costa Rican production could fall by 1–2% as unstable weather affects yields and crop cycles. The country remains a key supplier to international markets, meaning lower availability could also weigh on global exports.
India’s crop is expected to remain broadly stable.
The projections are based on historical FAOSTAT trends, secondary research and market analysis rather than final production surveys.
