The state of São Paulo, southeast Brazil, is having drought problems that impede the production of fruits and vegetables.
The lack of rain combined with heat affects the production of fruits and vegetables that are all experiencing condsiderable increase in their prices. Mango rose by 30% , eggplant and zucchini almost by 50% and prices of lemons increased from R$ 60 to R$ 160.
These drought conditions and heat will continue to reduce the supply and raise prices . Professionals estimate that production could fall by 30% in the whole state of São Paulo.
