Increased consumer awareness of healthy lifestyles and food as well as the increase in population are helping to make fresh fruits and vegetables an important commercial product in Dubai.
A recent report from BRL (Business Registration & Licensing) states that the number of companies operating in the Fruit & Vegetable trade area now reaches 2,495. The total number of entrepreneurs operating in the fresh Fruit & Vegetable trade area reached 8,799.
The Fruits & Vegetables trading sector benefits from the advantages offered by Dubai in terms of infrastructure and availability of logistics services.
A report established by Research and Market specifies that the United Arab Emirates are the 2nd most important market for food in the countries belonging to the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council). The Fruits & Vegetables market in the UAE is expected to grow by 9.93% during the period 2020-2025 according to the report.
