Apofruit distributes fruit to schools

Apofruit, affiliated to the "Frutta tional scuole", distributes 343,300 kg of fruit to 50,792 children in the region of Emilia Romagna.
Organised by the EU and the Ministry of Agriculture, the program "Frutta scuole tional" will distribute fruit to primary school students.
The nutrition education program is providing free fruit and vegetables in schools. In the Emilia Romagna region, the program involves 278 primary schools and 50,792 children.
343,300 kgs of fruits and vegetables will be distributed. Apofruit uses refrigerated trucks leaving from Pievesestina (
CF), Altedo (BO) and deVignola (MO) each morning for the distribution of fruit and vegetables. Grown by the producer members of the cooperative, the products are different depending on the season. Over the last year Apofruit has distributed oranges, clementines, mandarins, persimmons, apples, pears, nectarines, plums, apricots, strawberries, apples, tomatoes and grapes.
