“NutriFresh is a cost-effective solution that extends the shelf life of fresh-cut produce. The NutriFresh formulations have been helping fresh-cut processors in Europe achieve maximum shelf-life for almost a decade now. Each individual fruit or vegetable has a different biochemistry, and each ‘’problem’’ is tackled using a custom-designed formulation. We currently have about 25 chemical formulations for fresh-cut apples, pears, avocados, kiwifruits, mangos, bananas, stone fruits, carrots, broccoli, and root vegetables, among others. NutriFresh solutions can extend the shelf life of cut produce for up to 21 days.” comments Mr. Asimomytis.
“In addition, we recently presented NutriCoat, our novel edible-coating system for whole fruit. When NutriCoat is applied on the surface of fresh produce, by either dipping or spraying, it creates a thin protective film not visible to an eye that alters how the fruit interacts with the environment reducing respiration and therefore extending the shelf-life of the product by up to 40%”
