Brazilian retail consumption with positive indicators

2026 Retail consumption in Brazil accumulates 5,22% growth until August, with inflation down 0,57% last month alone.
Employment, income and the recent easing of pressure on food prices have helped to sustain growth in household consumption in Brazil. In August, the indicator rose by 2.69 per cent compared with August 2025, according to the monthly monitoring by the Brazilian Supermarket Association (ABRAS).
3,01% consumption growth in August alone
On a month-on-month basis, consumption rose by 2.21 per cent from July to August, maintaining its upward trend, albeit at a more moderate pace than between June and July, when the indicator had grown by 3.01%. Year-to-date from January. to August, consumption is up by 2.71%. Source and pics: ABRAS.
