Biedronka, which controls 70% of the Polish discount market far beyond Lidl, has modernized its logo and will redesign its stores.
The Biedronka supermarket chain in Poland, owned by Portuguese group Jeronimo Martins, has a new logo and will redesign stores.
Biedronka is the largest chain of discount supermarkets in Poland, controlling 70% discount of the market with 1,650 sales outlet, far ahead of the 750 stores from Lidl.
Biedronka will invest €1.6 billion between 2012 and 2014 to redesign its stores. The new designs have been already
tested and results have been very positive and will be extended to the whole country. The first step of this program is that the the logo being changed: more modern, with the simple slogan "every day low price".
Jeronimo Martins said its Polish subsidiary saw its sales increase by 20% in 2011.
