Hoogsteder strengthens its position on the French market.
As a daughter company of the Dutch cooperative The Greenery, Hoogsteder is specialized in the export of fruits and vegetables onto the French market. Since 1952, year of its foundation in Bleiswijk (situated a few kilometers away from Rotterdam), Hoogsteder has been distributing fresh fruits and vegetables throughout The Netherlands and Europe. While becoming part of The Greenery in 2002, the company has made quite a reputation as a high quality product exporter and build up a strong position, especially toward France.
Hoogsteder offers a large range of products and deals with an increasing demand for white mushrooms, tomatoes, paprika's, egg plants... The organic fruits and vegetables, standing for 5% of the total sales in 2009, are also responsible for a growing interest from the clients. More than an exporter, Hoogsteder refers to itself as a full service exporter, going as far as sending a team out to the retail location to highlight some specific products and taking care of the scene «animation » on the sale floor.
As one of the major Dutch exporter, Hoogsteder supplies most French importers and supermarkets, but distinguishes itself by also working with wholesalers and caterers.
