Asaja requests that negotiations stop with the Mercosur countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay) denouncing their protectionist practices.
The association of producers, Asaja, has asked the European Commission to stop its negotiations with Mercorsur (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay).
The application was presented at the meeting of the Working Group on Citrus, held a few days ago in Brussels. Based on the annual report of the European Commission,
Asaja has denounced trade barriers and protectionist practices of the Mercosur countries.
The report noted that there was no improvement in protectionist practices. Asaja targeted the import restrictions set by Argentina: a tax rate below 35% for some countries, and a 35% rate applicable to certain countries like the European Union.
