Apples: French production expected to rise

According to estimates, French apple production in 2019 is forecast to increase compared to 2018, and amount to the 2014-2018 average.

 

 

 

According to Agreste and data as of 01.08.2019, French apple production is estimated at 1.5 million tonnes, an increase from 2018 production which totaled 1.4 million tonnes.

 

 

 

This estimate will have to be confirmed, however, because the growth of fruit is currently slowed down by successive heat waves.

 

 

 

Compared to the previous harvest, volumes should reach for the Golden variety + 9% for the Granny Smith variety + 1% for the Gala variety + 4% and for other varieties + 5%.
