Peru’s fresh pea exports slip through August

Fresh pea exports eased in the first eight months of 2026, with lower volumes and prices weighing on export value.
Peru exported US$25.48 million worth of fresh peas between January and August 2026, down 5.3% from the same period of 2025, according to Agrodata.
Volume reached 7,846 tonnes, 3.5% lower year on year, while the average export price decreased from about US$3.31/kg to US$3.25/kg.
August shipments totaled US$5.60 million and 1,955 tonnes, compared with US$7.85 million and 2,399 tonnes in August 2025.
The United Kingdom and United States were the two largest destinations, each accounting for about 35% of export value, at US$8.92 million and US$8.84 million respectively. The Netherlands followed with US$6.93 million, or 27%, while Japan accounted for 2%.
