SOFRANA Unilines operates on 8 commercial routes serving 21 ports in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands.
The CMA CGM Group, a global operator of container transport, becomes a major player in the regional maritime trade of the Pacific Islands through its subsidiary Australian National Line (ANL), the biggest shareholder of SOFRANA Unilines.
SOFRANA Unilines operates on 8 commercial routes serving 21 ports in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands.
The acquisition of SOFRANA reinforces ANL port coverage in the South Pacific. ANL's strong position in Asia, India and North America, coupled with SOFRANA's knowledge of the Pacific Islands, provides customers with expanded operational coverage through more efficient services.
The new entity, SOFRANA ANL, will join the CMA CGM Group's wide portfolio of regional experts: OPDR and MacAndrews in Europe, CNC in Asia and Mercosul Line in Brazil (under acquisition).
The acquisition of SOFRANA Unilines is expected to be completed by the end of October.
