April frosts have not affected fruits and vegetables in Moldova
Based on the recent data, frosts in April have not done any harm to future yield of fruits and vegetables in Moldova. Moldavian farmers are highly concerned with recent frosts and hail, which are not typical for mid of April. But according to the local specialists, bad weather conditions will not affect fruits and vegetables in Moldova. Basically local agricultural specialists state that though temperature range in April 2015 is much lower comparing to the previous year, this is not the first case of spring frosts, so this is not time to ring the alarm. Low temperatures affect plant pollination, but further influence on fruits and vegetables could be observed only in May – June period after petals fall.
