The retail campaign supports wider fresh produce distribution in two European markets.
Costa Rican fresh pineapple and cassava are being presented in 37 supermarkets in France and Germany through a retail campaign running across June and July 2026. A total of 240 product-tasting sessions are planned in the two countries.
In France, pineapple and cassava tastings are taking place at 20 supermarkets in Paris and surrounding areas during June and July. The programme includes 120 sessions.
In Germany, fresh pineapple is being presented at 17 supermarkets in Hamburg and nearby areas. Another 120 sessions were scheduled between 11 June and 11 July.
European exports increase
Costa Rica’s exports to Europe rose by 15% year on year between January and April 2026. Europe was the country’s second-largest export region during the period.
Higher shipments of pineapple and bananas contributed to the increase, according to Costa Rica’s Foreign Trade Promotion Agency, PROCOMER.
The supermarket activity is intended to introduce Costa Rican pineapple and cassava to more consumers and support contacts with European fresh produce buyers and distributors.
