The Huelva-based partnership brings together South American production, European sales and logistics services to support direct supermarket supply programmes.
Talsa, Onesta Europe and Iberian Foods have presented a joint business model designed to connect avocado production in South America with packing and distribution services in Europe. The companies introduced the partnership at Fruit Attraction 2026 in Madrid.
The aim is to give European retailers a more reliable supply of avocados, with better control over quality, logistics and delivery schedules.
From South American farms to European supermarkets
Peruvian agricultural company Talsa supplies the fruit and manages production at origin. The company operates more than 2,400 hectares across Peru and Chile and employs around 6,000 people.
Alongside avocados, Talsa produces blueberries, premium table grapes, early cherries and Cherry Plums. Its products reach customers in more than 20 countries.
Onesta Europe, based in Huelva, Spain, serves as Talsa's European trading platform. It works directly with retailers and helps adapt supply programmes to the needs of individual markets, particularly Spain, Portugal and France.
By combining production and sales operations, the companies aim to shorten the supply chain, improve transparency and respond more quickly to customer requirements.
Iberian Foods handles operations in Spain
Iberian Foods provides the facilities and services needed once the fruit reaches Spain.
Founded in 2023 by Juan Alberto Franco, the Huelva-based company offers storage, sorting, packing, order preparation and distribution services to international fruit producers and traders.
The partnership allows Talsa and Onesta Europe to use an established logistics and packing platform without investing in their own facilities in Spain.
Jesús Cruz Barrios, CEO of Iberian Foods, explained that the company brings several services together in one location and adapts its operations to the requirements of each customer. This allows international suppliers to manage their European distribution more efficiently.
Closer cooperation with retailers
The companies intend to develop direct supply programmes with European supermarket chains, combining Talsa's control over production with Onesta Europe's local market knowledge and Iberian Foods' operational capacity.
According to Ricardo de la Torre Ugarte, Managing Director of Onesta Europe, controlling the fruit from the farm and coordinating operations at destination helps the company deliver more consistent quality to retailers.
The partnership also aims to offer greater flexibility in packing, distribution and delivery planning, allowing suppliers to respond to changing demand across European markets.
European retailers and fruit importers interested in developing avocado supply programmes can send their inquiry.
