Thailand promotes late-season durian sales with Bangkok Festival

The second Premium Durian Fest brought durian, mangosteen and other Thai fruit to Siam Paragon as late-season supplies continued to reach the market.
Thailand’s Department of Internal Trade held a second Premium Durian Fest in Bangkok from 3–7 September as part of efforts to move fruit still coming onto the market toward the end of the season.
The event at Siam Paragon brought durian from production areas across Thailand directly to consumers. Mangosteen, other seasonal fruit and processed products were also in focus.
The department said supplies from both southern and northern growing regions were still entering the market in the final part of the 2026 durian season.
Price promotions
Organisers sold up to 1,000 durians a day at a promotional price of THB 100 (USD 3.04) each. A durian buffet was also available for THB 699 (USD 21.23) per person.
The Bangkok event followed an earlier Premium Durian Fest at Central Northville. According to the department, that edition generated more than THB 20 million (USD 607,533) in sales.
More market channels
Thailand is also using retail stores, shopping centres, markets, online platforms and live commerce to distribute fruit during periods of higher supply.
The measures are intended to give growers more sales outlets while helping move seasonal fruit out of producing areas.
