Turkish lemon enters Japanese market

The "Development Committee of Export of Fruits and Vegetables in the Far East", created in January 2011, allowed initially the export of grapefruit and now will make possible that of lemons to Japan, after an intensive period of negotiations.
The Official Japanese Journal of 07/02/2014 issued export conditions of Turkish lemons in Japan. Intrinsic condition: "Treatment of fruits to 0.8 degree and below for a period of 12 days.
In this context, a Japanese delegation visited Turkey last week for direct bilateral negotiations with citrus exporters. They were also interested in other fruits, such as pomegranate, whose production has greatly increased in recent years in Turkey.
