World production of raisins will increase by 2% this year.
World production of raisins will lead to higher export growth.
Data from the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) and SENASA (health and quality estimate global production of raisins at 1.2 million tons, 2% more than the year last.
The United States remains the No. 1 worldwide with 300,000 tons, or 26%
of world production. Turkey is No. 2 with 270,000 tons or 23% of the world total, then China with 15% and Iran, 13%.
Exports are expected to increase by 5% to 734,000 tons. The European Union, which produces only 10,000 tons, is the largest importer with a volume of 330 000 tons.
