Argentina exports 1.9 million tons of fruits and vegetables each year.
In recent years, export earnings rose to $ 1.7 billion. This figure shows the growing importance of Argentina, as a producer and exporter for the fruit and vegetables in the world.
Europe remains the largest trading partner of the country, followed by Brazil (28%), Russia (11%) and the United States (7%). Over the past five years, demand has also increased in Asia and North Africa. Algeria has become one of the largest markets in North Africa (4%).
Among the many Argentine exported products, pome fruits (apples, grapes and pears - Argentina being the country's largest exporter of the latter), citrus fruits (lemons, tangerines, oranges and grapefruits ), stone fruits (cherries, plums, peaches) and berries (blueberries and strawberries). Argentina is also renowned worldwide for its garlic and onions, pumpkins, olives, potatoes and tomatoes.
Argentina exhibits each year since 2000 to at FRUIT LOGISTICA. The Argentine pavilion is organized by Fundación ExportAr and CFI (Consejo Federal de Inversiones) and brings over 50 exporters on a surface of 840 m2.
