Sunkist and Fruit Growers Supply announce new cooperative structure
The move formalises a long-standing partnership between the two organisations.
Sunkist Growers, Inc., one of the oldest citrus cooperatives in the United States, has announced a strategic reorganization with its sister company, Fruit Growers Supply Company. The two long-standing organizations will come together under a new California-based cooperative, also named Sunkist Growers, Inc., effective November 1, 2025. The newly formed entity will serve as the parent company overseeing both businesses.
The decision reflects a shared commitment to strengthen alignment between Sunkist’s marketing and sales capabilities and Fruit Growers Supply’s operational and supply chain expertise. Leadership noted that this structure will enable a more integrated approach to serving growers and customers, fostering innovation, and driving long-term efficiency across the organization.
Management explained that Sunkist and Fruit Growers Supply have been working under a shared leadership model since 2017. Over the years, closer coordination has resulted in measurable benefits, including improved collaboration and operational synergy. The new cooperative represents the next step in that partnership and is guided by a five-year strategic plan designed to support growth and adaptation in a rapidly changing citrus industry.
Board representatives highlighted that Sunkist and Fruit Growers Supply have operated side by side for more than a century. The reorganization, they said, is a natural progression that will help the unified company remain competitive and responsive to evolving market conditions. By combining resources and expertise, the organization aims to build a stronger foundation for future success.
The leadership team of the new parent cooperative will include key executives from both companies, ensuring continuity and a smooth transition for employees, growers, and customers.
