Citrus production seems very satisfactory

Excellent forecasts for citrus production in Italy.
According to the annual USDA report on citrus production in Europe, forecasts for Italy are excellent. For 2013/14 orange production will reach 1.9 million tons, an increase of approximately 12%. Blood oranges could register an increase of 17% (1.415 million tons) compared to the previous season. The only shade at the table: a shortage of large size (¾) is predicted.
Clementine production is expected to decline by 8% (615 000 tons to 670 000 tons in 2012/13), while mandarin production is expected to increase by 18.8% (145 000 tons to 122 000 tons ). Lemon production should be excellent in terms of quantity (+31% compared to the previous year) and quality, due to favorable weather conditions. Grapefruit production is expected to increase +33% over the previous season.
