Thousands of hectares of crops destroyed.
Thunderstorms and hail have damaged thousands of hectares in the north east of Spain.
Agreseguro, the association of crop insurers, identifies 12,270 hectares affected by severe storms last week in the regions of Aragon and Catalunya.
Lleida is the province most affected, with nearly 9,000 hectares
damaged, especially the counties of Urgell, Segria, Noguera and Garrigues. Nearly 3,000 hectares are affected in the region Aragon.
Apples, pears, nectarines and peaches were being harvested or about to be picked.
