Huge problems to route and deliver fruits & vegetables
FJ
The massive earthquake that struck the Kathmandu valley has completely disrupted the country's supply circuits.
Since the earthquake , most of the retail stores in the Kathmandu Valley remained closed . Some were able to open but only for a few hours during the day. But these retailers may be running out of goods in the coming hours.
Indeed , wholesalers are not able to deliver, due to lack of manpower and difficulties to circulate. Tons of vegetables arrived from India and the province of Dhading , but remained stuck in Kalimati wholesale market for lack of transport.
On Tuesday, the big Kalimati received only 84 tons of fruit and vegetables, while normally the market receives 600-650 tons per day.
