More than 450 B2B meetings connected Chilean exporters with buyers from three Asian markets.
The first Chile-North Asia Business Meeting ended in Seoul with projected business of close to US$60 million.
More than 450 meetings took place between Chilean exporters and importers from South Korea, Japan and Taipei. Over 30 Chilean companies participated, covering sectors including fresh fruit, frozen fruit, dried fruit and nuts.
ProChile stressed that the US$60 million figure represents potential business generated during the meetings rather than completed sales. The agency plans to follow the commercial opportunities as companies continue negotiations with prospective buyers.
South Korea, Japan and Taipei are among Chile’s five largest Asian destinations. Together, the three markets accounted for 28% of Chile’s non-copper and non-lithium exports to Asia in 2025, valued at US$4.78 billion. Food exports to North Asia have increased by 35% since 2015 and reached close to US$2.7 billion over the latest year reported by ProChile.
