The meetings focused on seasonal supply, promotions and planning with major US retailers.
Frutas de Chile has begun preparations for the 2026/27 export season through meetings with leading US retailers.
Representatives of the association’s Cherry Committee and its US office met with teams from Sam’s Club and Walmart in Bentonville. The talks focused on the upcoming summer cherry campaign and other Chilean fruit, including stone fruit, table grapes, apples, pears and blueberries.
The Chilean delegation included Ignacio Caballero, director of Frutas de Chile’s office for the Americas; Claudia Soler, executive director of the Cherry Committee; and Allison Myers, the association’s regional merchandiser for the eastern and central United States.
Caballero said the US is an important destination for Chilean fresh fruit. Cooperation with retailers has helped promote product quality and inform consumers about Chile’s counter-seasonal supply. Chilean shipments arrive during periods when local production is unavailable, allowing US shoppers to find their preferred fruit throughout the year.
The delegation also reviewed the progress of the current Chilean kiwifruit and citrus seasons in the US market.
