Peru’s asparagus sector sees major growth in 2025 exports

Peru’s asparagus exports have seen a strong boost in 2025. By week 22 of the current season, shipments totaled 29,393 tonnes, up 27% compared to last year, generating $78.5 million in export value.

According to a recent industry report, North America received the majority of the volume — 22,218 tonnes, or 75% of total shipments. Other destinations included Europe (21%), Latin America (3%), Asia (1%), and the Middle East (0.3%).

The report also noted that 67% of exports were sent by sea, while 33% went by air, highlighting Peru's dual transport strategy.
