The season starts with 3 weeks delay for the potato of the island of Ré.
The 1st harvests of early potato PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) started on the island of Ré. The bad weather conditions have resulted in a delay of three weeks of the usual calendar.
The production of Ré Island reaches 2200 tons per year for an area of ??140 hectares. The marketing will last 2 months, the producers' cooperative, UniRé has 22 members, the expected turnover is about 2.2 million euros.
