Fall of 30 % of salads production in Murcia.
The Association of the producers-exporters of fruits and vegetables in Murcia (Proexport) confirmed a decline of 30 % of the production of salads.
Proexport had warned that the bad weather would reduce the production and had estimated at first a decline from 40 to 50 %.
Some producers of the region which concentrates 80 % of the salad in the export cannot honor the supplies for the distribution chains.
In 2008, Spain exported 554.165 tons mainly in Germany (236.000) and in the United Kingdom (172.000).
