55,500 metric tons of Spanish mangoes

Production is concentrated primarily in the provinces of Málaga and Granada, where the climate allows this tropical fruit to be grown within Europe. Its proximity to major consumer markets, harvesting at the optimal time, and compliance with European regulations on production and food safety are among the attributes the campaign aims to highlight to consumers.

20–30% Reduction in the 2026 Harvest

The new season arrives with mixed forecasts regarding volume, with operators predicting reductions of between 20% and 30% in some areas. However, the outlook is positive in terms of product quality and size. This month, the Spanish Interprofessional Organization for Avocados and Mangoes (INTERTROPIC) is launching a European promotional campaign for European tropical fruit called “Frutas con Corazón” (Fruit with a Heart), with the message “You take care of yourself, and it takes care of you.” The goal is to increase demand, raise awareness of the fruit’s origin, and encourage consumers to recognize and appreciate European mangoes grown in Spain.
