The Central Europe has serious floods that will influence on agricultural production.
The floods affect Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Everywhere, these floods reach new record levels and will damage crops. The costs will estimate to billions of euros according to Copa-Cogeca, an organizations of farmers and cooperatives.
In Germany, about 335,000 hectares are flooded, the damages will exceed those of the floods of 2002. In Czech Republic, 35 000 hectares are under water, this figure could rise to 80,000 hectares flooded in the coming days. These floods are the consequences of heavy rains and the overflowing of the Danube and its tributaries. The return to a normal situation will take weeks.
