Tomatoes are #1 products in greenhouses, followed by peppers; harvests of cherries are announced good, but with unspecified volume.
Iceland has added a new variety to its fruit in greenhouses: cherry.
The locality of Laugarás in southern of Iceland has many greenhouses where they grow fruits and vegetables. One firm, Engi, just add cherries to its product range. The good harvest is expected and will be sold at the farm.
Iceland, greenhouses, heated free due to geothermal volcanic, support diverse crops (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, raspberries) which will nourish the local market and provide Icelandic fresh fruits and vegetables.
