Expected increase of +127% in volume for French apricot production

In France, after 2 years of very low production, the 2022 campaign promises to be very satisfactory with a volume of +127% compared to 2021 and +22% compared to the average over 5 years.
A recent Agreste report, from the Ministry of Agriculture, announces that according to estimates as of July 1, 2022 apricot production should reach 134,600 tonnes. That is +127% compared to 2021 production which had been strongly impacted by frost and +22% compared to the 5-year average
By major production areas: the Occitanie region should produce 44,800 tonnes (i.e. +30% compared to 2021), the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region should produce 17,600 tonnes (i.e. +109% compared to 2021) and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region should produce 69,600 tonnes (i.e. +354% compared to 2021).
