For the 2018/19 season the Dutch Onion export volume is expected to be around 800 000 tonnes, compared to slightly less than 1.2 million tonnes in the previous export season.
After years of strong growth in onion exports, extremely low yields per hectare, due to the extremely dry summer of 2018, have significantly reduced the volume of exports this year.
According to Holland Onion's estimates, the volume of 2018/19 exports will be around 800 000 tonnes, compared with just under 1.2 million tonnes in the previous export season.
The classification of the destination countries in terms of volume for this 2018/19 campaign are: Senegal, United Kingdom, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Germany, Mauritania, Belgium, Indonesia, Mali, Israel, Gambia, France, Sierra Leone, Poland, Ireland.
