Strawberry production saw its fifth consecutive year of growth in 2017.

Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia grew 90% of vegetables, all varieties combined. Half of the total value comes from 7 vegetables: carrot, tomato, onion, lettuce, corn, cabbage, broccoli. The price of broccoli has jumped more than 20% in one year. Shallots and green onions increased by 22.5%.
For 2017, the total value of Canadian fruits is estimated at CAD 1 billion (€ 630 million) or -4.6% compared to 2016 and that of vegetables at CAD 1.2 billion (€ 757 million), ie + 2%. In Canada, vegetable crops occupy 103,669 hectares and fruit crops total 132,685 hectares.
