French minister meets producers in Pyrénées-Orientales

The minister has an urgent meeting with the producers of Roussillon hoping to receive concrete agreements to resolve the crisis.
The French minister for Agriculture is visiting producers in the Pyréennées-Orientales today.
The minister, Bruno Le Maire, is expected in the Ille-sur-Tet cooperative (Department 66), and should meet with representatives to speak about the situation in the fruit and vegetables market.
After many meetings
between professionals and government which have so far led to no firm results, the crisis has deepened in the fruit and vegetables sector.
Incidents such as peaches dumped on roads or "attacks" on Spanish trucks have added impetus to solving the crisis. The government hopes this visit will calm the situation.
