The freeze hits the vineyards and stone fruit plantations

Due to temperature that dropped between 0 and -1 ° C for several days from the 20 until the 25 of April has significantly damaged are the Manisa and Aegean region. Those regions are an important center of production of grapes, plums, cherries, fisheries and in particular the variety of Sultani seedless grapes.

Such an event did not occur for 50 years and farmers say that 80% of vineyards are affected and are asking the government  for help, particularly to defer the payment of their credits. Without adequate measures , the harvest of the following year would even be in danger.
