Citrus southern hemisphere: expected increase

Citrus production in the southern hemisphere is forecast to rise this year. 

Based on data compiled by Freshfel and Shaffe, citrus production in the southern hemisphere will increase. This year's production will reach 7,146,000 tons or +9.85% compared to the production of the previous year (6.505 million tons).

Whatever concerns the exports, the investigation predicts the overall of 2.588 million tons, rise of 2.82% compared to the previous season (2.517 million tons). With the differences between the countries, expected exports of South Africa +3.99%, those of Argentina +6.31%, Chile -1.75%, Peru  +10% and Uruguay -17.5%.
