Dramatic decrease of demand for Vietnamese fruit

According statistic of Vietnam Custom Office the demand for fruit on international markets decreased dramatically last year.
What once have been 330 million dollars industry is today valued as 30 million dollar business - no matter that Vietnam is still selling fruit to 55 countries.
The main reason for that scandal is, according the opinion of General Secretary of Vietnamese Federation for Fruit and Vegetable, Mr Nguyen Van Ky, a lack of quality and quantity control for these fruit and vegetables which are prepared to be sold on international markets.
15 to 20 % of 7 million tons of fruit produced in the country are not fulfilling the export criteria and quite often they cost more than the same product planted in another country.
