American apples are available on ALIBABA

Apples from the US state of Washington participated in the kick-off hosted by ALIBABA trade event for its "Singles Day" to be held on 11 November.

At headquarters of the company in Hangzhou, the company chairman Jack Ma was able to discover the products that are offered to millions of consumers across different sales platforms.

Traceability is one of the goals this year. A label on " Washington Apples " will allow consumers , by scanning the QR code, to know the exact origin of each apple and go back to the orchard where it was grown .
