"BABY KIWI" launched by Sant'Orsola
Italy
Wednesday 05 November 2008
It is just a little bigger than a grape but, despite its size, it is a real concentrate of substances beneficial for health. We are talking about Arguta Kiwi, a product recently launched on market by the Italian cooperative Sant’Orsola, Country’s leader in small fruits’ production and trading. It is still a little-known product in Italy but it has been grown for years in the Trentino region (northern Italy) by some members of the Cooperative.
This “baby-kiwi” is available from October to December, during its full ripening stage, when it can give expression to all its organoleptic and nutritional virtues. Rich in natural sugars, such as glucose, fructose and sucrose, this oblong “mini-fruit” is very sweet and tasty. Its hairless greenish thin peel makes it easier to eat whole.
Also other products offering taste, colour and vigour to our daily diet in the cold winter days are moving from Sant’Orsola Cooperative into Italian large-scale retailers’ fruit&veg departments.
These include strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants and blueberries, available all year in Italian hyper and supermarkets thanks to Sant’Orsola’s commitment in purchasing these products from strictly selected foreign suppliers.
