European protection measures for chestnut

Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Portugal have decided to set up an European program for the protection of chestnut, called FOREST. Indeed, this three which can be found in many Atlantic and Mediterranean regions, is becoming rare due some diseases. In Portugal, chestnut grove spread on 28 000 hectares and stand for 21% of the country's exports, mainly to Brazil.
