American citrus cooperative launches 'Family Segments' series

Sunkist Growers recently launched a new 3-part series on YouTube, Family Segments. The at-home cooking tutorials are hosted by Canadian chef influencers, and give viewers perspective into how families connect with each other over conversations, culture and citrus.
The first episode was featured by Vijaya Selvaraju and her mother, Meena, followed by Devan Rajkumar and his mother, Bhano; the third and last episode will air on April 27, on Sunkist’s YouTube channel and on Instagram page featuring Craig Wong and his mother, Shirley. In each unscripted episode, the chefs invite their family members to share the story behind a favorite citrus-infused recipe that highlights the flavor and versatility of the U.S.-grown Sunkist citrus, and its health benefits.
Christina Ward, Senior Director of Global Marketing at Sunkist, hopes showcasing real citrus, real conversations, and real family love in Family Segments will encourage people to do the same at their own homes.
Wellness and health is playing a key role in consumers' preferences, as they have become increasingly aware of the health benefits of vitamins and minerals.
The new series will include this growing trend and highlight Sunkist oranges and lemons. Sunkist Navel, Blood oranges, and Cara Cara are sweet, juicy and reach in vitamin C. These California-grown orange varieties are available at local grocery stores from May to June, while Sunkist lemons are available all year round.
On April 12-16, 2021, stop by the Sunkist booth at the virtual Canada Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) Fresh Week show. They will be sharing a daily hit of recipe inspiration, retailer resources and other.
Sunkist Growers, founded in 1893, is a citrus marketing cooperative, owned by and operated for thousands of family farmers, citrus growers in California and Arizona. For more information, visit their website.
