Berry firms finalise merger plans

Three major berry growers are to combine their marketing and breeding functions for the European market. KG Growers, Driscoll Strawberry Associates and Alconeras UK are to merge their European marketing and breeding activities to target the premium berry market in Europe. Although a name of the merged company is yet to be announced, it will have responsibility for combined European sales, marketing and product development programmes, with breeding and genetic development forming a key part of the new entity.
