A new solution to control the disease

A society from New Zealand maybe found the solution to protect kiwi orchards against the ravages of the PSA disease.

Protective Canopies Limited (PROCAN) created a cover, a protective tent for kiwi orchards. This tent protects from wind and rain, and prevents the disease from spreading. The company stresses that protection against water is important because the disease hardly grows in dry areas.

The cost of these canopies is approximately $ 125,000 per hectare. Protective Canopies Limited has already signed more than thirty contracts with large landowners.
