MACFRUT DIRECT - Peru for the first time participating at Macfrut

Italy as springboard for Peruvian agro exports to Europe: asparagus, avocado, quinoa the flagship products.

Peru is the guest of honor at Macfrut 2014.

The Economic and Commercial Office of Peru in Milan accompanies to the event the delegation of AGAP, the Peruvian non-profit association representing the interests of the agricultural production sector for export, and grouping six associations of producers.

For Peru, Italy represents a continuously growing market: in the first seven months of 2014 there has been an increase in exports of 8.8%.

In addition to asparagus, the main exported product, there are significant exports of papaya and mango, despite competition from Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
